Boston's Life Sciences Corridor Benefits ENC Students

In the spring of 2014, Boston mayor Martin J. Walsh joined mayors from four other cities (Somerville, Cambridge, Quincy, and Braintree) to announce the new Life Sciences Corridor initiative, aiming to bring life science businesses and start-ups to areas along the MBTA’s Red Line.

Eastern Nazarene College, located in Quincy, is in the heart of this new corridor and is connected to Cambridge - considered the #1 life sciences cluster of businesses in the world – through a short ride on the train. Additionally, the Quincy Center For Innovation (QCI) is spearheading innovation efforts in Quincy in their start-up business incubation center at ENC’s Old Colony Campus and ENC students are already benefitting through internships and networking. As businesses continue to move to the area and the Life Sciences Corridor grows in popularity, ENC students will benefit through increased numbers of internships and jobs.

ENC Student Benefits:

  • Quincy is part of the only Life Sciences Corridor in the Northeast
  • Cambridge, MA is the #1 cluster in the world for the Life Sciences industry
  • ENC students are already getting valuable experience from the Quincy Chamber of Commerce partner companies and the Quincy Center for Innovation start-up companies
  • ENC students in a variety of majors now have a tremendous opportunity for internships with start-ups and Life Sciences companies in Quincy

The Quincy Center For Innovation (QCI) is a valuable addition to Quincy and for ENC students. Hear what Dean Rizzo, Executive Director of QCI, has to say about ENC students and the opportunities they have to gain valuable experience in Life Sciences companies.
